This is a fantastic little app. Love it!

It works perfectly. Just need to allow my geek tool "geeklets" stay on top if at all possible...

Works just as described. I use a picture smaller than the screen and it expands it to fill the screen. I would like an option for it to use the picture as is and fill rest of the shade with a color.

simply, this app protect you & your screen from those meddling people, you know what, when you wont any one to see what on your desktop, just get this app. and its works with OS X ,

this is perfect for my messy desktop. its hard to keep my files organized, and then it becomes so distracting. shade covers it all up!

Would give it 5 stars if it had multi-monitor support too.

Would be great if it supported spaces. Work, but it feels crippled. May just stick to my Alfred power pack option that hides icons.

No ads, works well, does just what it is supposed to do - why is it free? Oh, well - might as well not look a horse gift in the butt...

It would be more helpful if the command to expose the desktop did not remove the Shade window, when it is in place.

Great app, works like a charm! The one thing that would really make this app is if it had the option of launching automatically at startup or staying in the menu bar. I get tired of getting into launchpad to open Shade every time I log on. Other than that, fantastic app!

This is a really nice, minimalist app that does what it says. Great for screen recordings, which is why I bought it. Slick animation, cool drag/drop feature for selecting an image. I do wish that the chosen background would stay in place in Mission Control, or when using commands like “Show Desktop” to push away all the windows with the trackpad. I have to be careful not to do these things when recording my screen. Seems overpriced for what it does, especially considering that it doesn’t work in Mission Control or with multiple monitors. I don’t mind paying for good software, but $10 is more than I’ve paid for much more complicated tools.

So if your wallpaper changes periodically, then this app does not really get the job done.

Great app, hides everything i don’t want to see. Needs a dark-mode icon for the menu bar… but other than that, 5 stars!
